Hester Street Fair is proudly returning to Bryant Park! This year, find our incredible lineup of food vendors alongside an incredible lineup of NYC production companies who are coming into the park to give free performances you would not be able to find elsewhere.

The 2022 season of Picnic Performances presented by Bank of America showcases twenty-six live and in-person music, dance, and theater events produced in partnership with a diverse and storied lineup of New York City’s performing arts institutions. Over 20 of this season’s events will also be available to live stream in their entirety.

Special Performance

The night will feature Bryant Park’s annual Accordion Festival. Four bands spotlighting masterful free reed instrument players from cultures around the world come together for the 2022 Accordion Festival. Join us as we honor the accordion as an instrument that overcomes borders with love, hope, freedom, empathy, and fun!

Featuring:

Heart of Afghanistan with Afghani music icon Ahmad Fanoos and his sons, who recently relocated to the US from Afghanistan; 

Ukrainian Village Voices polyphonic singing collective on a mission to preserve the culture of small village life of Ukraine;

Balaklava Blues who fuses Ukrainian polyphony and other folk traditions with EDM, trap, and dubstep, falling between a traditional song cycle and a full blown techno show; 

A Mexican Independence Day premiere of Cinco12: The Music of Selena, performing the music of the late pop star Selena, an icon who openly celebrated her Chicana identity and served as a representative for the hopes and aspirations for many.
