Cake Mama

Alexander Jung started Cake Mama in 2022 out of a love for cake and a love for New Yorkers. Being a true New Yorker, they wanted to offer delicious cakes to people who are constantly on the go! What's the best way to sell a cake to someone who is always on the go? That's the question that led Alex to make the signature "mini cake" (with a cute complimentary spoon attached) that can be found on their menu today.

"The mini was a perfect blend of what I wanted: A good as hell, unique yet classic, premium dessert New Yorkers can take to go."
Their main-stay flavors are lemon raspberry, birthday cake, or chocolate hazelnut. Super delicious and easy to eat as you book it to the subway.

WHY HESTER STREET FAIR?

Alex has had a lot of entrepreneurs in their life. In particular, their father inspired Alex into starting the cake biz. Alex's Dad follows a lot of his own passions which in turn, pushed Alex towards following their own. Mix that strong entrepreneurial background with 13 years of experience within the hospitality industry- specifically bakeries and cafes- and you have yourself a perfect recipe that guided the creation of Cake Mama. Lucky for us, Hester Street Fair is the first place where Alex got to sell those cakes!
"I’ve always known of Hester Street Fair throughout my years of living in New York. When I was ready to begin Cake Mama, it was one of the first markets I thought of trying to get into. I'm so grateful that it was the first platform I was ever given as a business and it helped me define my brand and connect with my community."

TIME FOR SOME COFFEE!

While their main passion is baking, Alex is quite cultured in the world of coffee. Last September they jumped in as our coffee vendor when we had a last-minute coffee callout. Not only did they save the day, but sales were so good that boom! An extension of the business was born. Now, we'll all have the pleasure to have their mini cakes & coffee for the entirety of Season 14.
